Fridays Are For Family #FamilyFriday

Being married for over 16 years and fathering the infamous Myles Dula for over 12, it’s still feels weird to be on this journey.  Good times, bad times, happy times, sad times all seem to happen in a blur.  Just the other day, wifey and I were reminiscing with some friends about times with Myles prior to and immediately after his diagnosis (which was back in ’03).  It all felt so fresh and present.  Now this dude is 5’6 and has hair in areas that wifey and I are clearly not ready to see. WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

Each day brings its own set of challenges for every family.  Money problems, communication problems, time problems, health problems…problems are as much a part of a family as the people who comprise it.  The beauty of family is being able to attack each problem with a resolve to remain unified and dependent upon the power of the gospel.  Ephesians 3:14-17 sums it up for me:

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to  the riches of his glory  he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being  rooted and grounded in love,

 Enjoy the weekend but most of all, ENJOY YOUR FAMILY!
